WIN: A 12 Month Xbox Game Pass So You Don’t Have To Fork Our For Your Own

If you weren’t already aware, the lords over at Xbox have been running their own Netflix-like subscription service for games called Xbox Game Pass for a little while now. For a very reasonable  monthly fee, it’ll give you access to a huge library of games you can play whenever you like, for as long as you like.

Another great aspect of playing games via Xbox Game Pass is that if you do decide you’d like to purchase a game, you can do so for 20 per cent off the normal price, so not only will you own the title at a discount, you won’t lose any of your saved progress or have to re-install it. Nice.

It’s a pretty good deal, and even includes some backward compatible classics from the Xbox 360, but now that it includes big new release games like Sea of Thieves, it’s pretty much the perfect platform for gaming.

Lucky for you, Mastercard Debit Rewards is giving away a bunch of free 12 month subscriptions to Xbox Game Pass, so as soon as the new pirate adventure game drops, you can sink your teeth into it the same day as its global release. Enter below for your chance to win one of ten passes.

WIN A YEAR’S WORTH OF FREE GAMING

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, Sea of Thieves is a massively multiplayer online game that lets you and your friends command a pirate ship with the goal of becoming pirate legends. There’s a bunch of different ways you can do this, whether it’s finding treasure for the Gold Hoarders, trading resources for The Merchant Alliance, or collecting artefacts for the Order of Souls.

After spending some time with the game at E3 last year and more recently during its beta, I can confirm that the entire thing is insanely fun. Each time I ventured out into the sea in search of treasure – whether it was by myself, with strangers, or with a group of pals – it always ended with a story of some sort.

What makes the game so memorable is its focus on teamwork. There are no waypoints to tell you where to go, you’re simply given a map and a compass to figure it out yourself, which means someone needs to steer the ship while someone else is looking at the map to make sure you’re travelling in the right direction.

It’s crazy just how quickly you’ll fall into a role on board the ship, whether it’s steering, controlling the sails, navigating, or keeping an eye out for enemies from the crow’s nest. Everyone takes up their own position with a fluidity rarely seen anywhere else. Suss out the trailer below.

And the game is out right now, folks, so what better way to get on board than by paying nothing at all?

See you in the Sea of Thieves, pirate legends. Expect cannon balls from my crew.
