Fortnite Season 5 is finally here, folks, and while we don’t have a brand new battle royale map, we do have a heavily modified version of the current one, including a section that’s drastically different from the rest.

This is the biggest change by far and is situated in the entire bottom right corner, which is now a kind of desert biome where Moisty Mire used to be. It’s now known as Paradise Palms.

Dusty Divot is also now totally overgrown, there’s a fucking golf course at the top of the map called Lazy Links where Anarchy Acres used to be, and a Viking ship has appeared on a mountain, along with other smaller items scattered over the place. I’ve whacked the old map below so you can compare the differences.

While more changes are expected throughout the course of the new season, players can now actually play golf on the aforementioned course, along with basketball and maybe even volleyball. Sports, bitch!
According to Polygon, you can unlock these “toys” by purchasing the Season 5 Battle Pass and doing an emote that generates a basketball, golf ball or volleyball. The last one isn’t confirmed because, well, no one can really be certain about the type of ball it is, but the consensus at this stage is volleyball.
In terms of going for a golf, you’ll need to hit level 27 before you can unlock the emote, so keep that in mind. People have already come across the basketball court, but no one’s found a volleyball net just yet. I’m sure it’ll turn up at some point.
