The creators of the hugely successful platformer, Super Meat Boy, today announced the game is headed for the Nintendo Switch.
Team Meat let us all in on the news via a Twitter post this morning which included a picture of the game running on the portable home console.

Oh HELL yeah. As the internet often does, there’s been a lot of very good GIF and image replies to the tweet.

It’s a great move, but not all that surprising given Edmund McMillen – one half of Team Meat – has already released his game The Binding of Isaac on the Switch. His latest game, The End is Nigh, is also likely hit the console.
Super Meat Boy was released back in 2010 and received a gamut of excellent reviews across the board. Its tumultuous creation also appeared in the documentary, Indie Game: The Movie, which was released in 2012.
Playing as a skinless little critter, your main objective in the game is to save your girlfriend from the evil Dr. Fetus. Sure, Mario‘s been doing the same thing for years, but it’s a classic motivation for hurling a small pixelated character through a number of dangerous courses.
There’s no word on a release window just yet, but fingers crossed it’s sooner rather than later.
