After dropping a few very schmick trailers throughout the year, Rockstar has finally revealed some gameplay footage for the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 and fuck me rigid, it’s going to be a dense game, folks.

The narrated video talks through a number of game mechanics such as the enhanced Dead Eye targeting system, wanted levels, and roving campsites, as well as introducing the world’s absurdly beautiful landscapes which include a number of different terrains. You’ll be traversing deserts, swamp land, forests, settlements, and more.
You’ll also be able to choose exactly how you want to interact with characters within the world, showing how stumbling across dicey situations can be handled in a number of ways, such as simply walking away, diffusing the tension, or drawing your weapon.
While it wasn’t explicitly detailed, your wanted level appears to be shown in text rather than GTA’s star system. One snippet shows the word ‘INTERROGATING’ in the top right corner, which appears to be a low-level situation you can talk your way out of.
Combat has also been given a huge overhaul compared to Red Dead Redemption and GTA V. Both hand-to-hand fighting and shooting look satisfyingly weighted and fluid.
It’s fairly safe to say Rockstar’s upcoming epic is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest and best titles. Do yourself a favour and check out the gameplay trailer below.
There’s going to be at least one more gameplay reveal between now and the game’s release on October 26, so keep an eye out for that one, too.
