Easter eggs in video games are certainly not a new concept. Developers have been hiding cheeky little treats around their virtual worlds for a long time, but some of them are a little more physical than others.
What I mean by that is, while most easter eggs tend to be found inside the game, this one is simply written onto the disc, and it’s absolutely owning the internet.
Released in 2004, an old PlayStation 2 game called The Bard’s Tale was an RPG that took the piss out of other RPGs. It got decent reviews and was praised for being genuinely funny.
As Twitter user @alejansolo notes, it’s even funny before you boot it up.
This PS2 game just flat out gave me the most devastating burn. pic.twitter.com/exyaOXRzDL

Fucking got him. Others were also shaken by the insulting disc.
The Bard’s Tale is still a great game , even better now I know the disc is sort of an ass. Can’t believe I have owned this game since release and never noticed that. Only 14 years.

I was 95% sure it was Bard’s Tale because that’s so solidly in line with the humor in that game XD
