There’s A Janky-Looking ‘Power Rangers’ Game Coming & Who Asked For This?

A new Power Rangers game is coming in April, folks, and its first trailer was released earlier today. The fighter is similar to others in the genre, only you’re beating the shit out of other Power Rangers and their enemies.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is coming to both console and PC and to be honest, it looks pretty bland. Of course, we don’t know enough about it to make any kind of meaningful call just yet, but early impressions just seem janky and kind of empty.

You can watch the trailer for yourself below.

Hmm, hard pass. The best part, however, is that the game will be cross-play enabled across all three consoles – PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch – which is great news not only for fans of this title but for the future of cross-play in general.

Battle for the Grid is the latest project from developer and publisher, nWay, which was also behind the Power Rangers: Legacy Wars mobile game. This offering is a collaboration between nWay, Hasbro, and Lionsgate.

Apparently, the idea was to make the controls piss-easy, opting for timing over a system of complex moves and combos, so it sounds like there isn’t all that much to it.

Of course, we’ll have to hold off proper judgement for the finished project in April.
