PewDiePie is one of the most popular YouTube stars in the world, but he’s also one of the dumbest. Only six months after making anti-Semetic and pro-Hitler comments under the guise of “jokes”, Felix Kjellberg has fucked up yet again.
During a stream of the popular online game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, old mate casually dropped the n-word and then attempted to replace it with “asshole” moments later. For fuck’s sake, it’s not hard to avoid pointless racism, hey.
Kjellberg was in hot water earlier this year for making a number of “ironic” Nazi jokes which lead to him losing a major partnership with Disney. He also made a video last month in the wake of the events in Charlottesville telling the world he was no longer going to make such jokes, calling them a “dead meme”.

Wow, the sincerity is just oozing from him. It seems less like he’s sorry and more like he’s conducting some minor damage control.
Sure, racism in the video game world, sadly, is not a new phenomenon. I can’t seem to log into any online game without hearing some kind of racist or homophobic slur, but PewDiePie’s videos are watched by millions of young gamers and the last thing we need is this internet dumpster perpetuating shitty online behaviour.
Firewatch developer Sean Vanaman agrees, filing a Digital Millennium Copyright Act takedown of any videos featuring content from all Camp Santo games.

Whether more studios will follow suit is yet to be seen, but it seems pretty clear that PewDiePie is having a hard time reigning in his undying penchant for racism, so it’s likely only a matter of time.
