Nintendo Unveil A ‘Breath Of The Wild’ Sequel & ‘The Witcher 3’ For Switch

As always, Nintendo is the last to show off their new gear as E3 officially kicks off today, and there are some big ones in here folks. Here’s the best of what was announced.

Luigi’s Mansion 3

Some fun gameplay footage from Luigi‘s spooky upcoming adventure, including multiplayer and singleplayer details. The best mechanic has gotta be the ability to change into a goo version of the character called Gooigi. Genius.

See the video for yourself below.

Haha, Gooigi. The game will be released at some point this year.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

Some new footage from the upcoming remake, with details of a rad new dungeon creator function. We also have a release date, which is September 20 this year.

See it below.

The Witcher 3

Holy shit, the best Witcher game is coming to the Switch. Given its size, a full port seemed pretty unlikely, but clearly, the team have been able to pull it off.

You can see the reveal trailer below.

It’ll release at some point this year.

No More Heroes 3

I’m not entirely familiar with the series, but it stars some bloke named Travis who sounds like a real asshole and carries a lightsabre-like sword. See the trailer below.

It’ll be released in 2020.

Contra Rogue Corps

Huh, a new Contra game. Looks intense. Nintendo also announced the classic Contra collection will be making its way over to the Switch starting today.

See the trailer below.

Empire of Sin

Some cool-ass old school gangsta shit. That’s about all I can gather from the reveal, but it’ll be out in Autumn, 2020. Trailer below.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The new Animal Crossing adventure will take place on an island, letting you craft holiday experiences for your guests. Check out the details below.

The release date has also been pushed back to March 20, 2020.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel

That’s right, folks, the next mainline Zelda game is being worked on right now. The trailer doesn’t give much away, but it does look like it’ll have the same style of Breath of the Wild, and maybe even the same world judging by the trailer.

That’s about all we know so far, so I’d imagine this is a while off yet. You can have a look at the announcement video below.

Outside of all that, we saw that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is getting new characters from Dragon Quest, as well as the iconic Banjo-Kazooie. There’s also a new game called Panzer Dragoon, not sure what’s going on there. Some classic Resident Evil games including RE5 and RE6 will be heading to the platform in our Spring this year, and the remastered Spyro trilogy will be doing the same on September 3.

There wasn’t any new information about Pokemon Sword and Shield, other than it’s currently playable at E3. Some gameplay footage will be broadcast during the Nintendo Treehouse session, which you can check out below along with the entire Nintendo Direct.
