Nintendo Just Dropped A Fucking ‘Tetris’ Battle Royale & A Free ‘Yoshi’ Demo

Nintendo announced quite a lot of stuff during its Direct presentation this morning, including a remake of the classic Zelda title, Link’s Awakening, for the Switch. Beyond that, here are some more highlights the company has coming your way.

Super Mario Maker 2

Like its predecessor, Super Mario Maker 2 lets you make your very own courses using assets from pretty much any of the side-scrolling Mario games. This one packs more tools, items and features for you to create absolutely wild, near-unfinishable levels.

The title will hit the Nintendo Switch in June this year. Check out the announcement trailer below.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

Yep, a full remake of this bad boy is coming later this year. Suss the details at the link below.

Tetris 99

Well, would you fucking look at that, a Tetris battle royale. The Nintendo Online game is available to download today for free and pits 99 players against each other with the last one standing crowned the winner. You’ll be able to launch sneaky attacks against opponents, but overall, it’s mostly the Tetris gameplay you know and love.

Yoshi’s Crafted World Demo

The much anticipated Yoshi game is getting a free demo, folks, and it’s out today. Available through the Nintendo eShop, the demo will let you explore part of its cutesy crafted world before its full release on March 29.

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered

The rumours were true, the ACIII collection will be hitting the Switch on May 21, including all of its DLC, as well as the standalone Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered.

Final Fantasy IX

We knew Nintendo was bringing a lot of classic Final Fantasy games to its platforms since last year, but today, it’s releasing Final Fantasy IX on the Nintendo eShop.
