ABOUT TIME: The Nintendo Switch Is Getting A Bunch Of Cool Indie Games

We all know the Nintendo Switch has been lacking content since its release back in March. That didn’t stop it flying off the shelves, though, which is more of a testament to how fucking good The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is than anything else.

But more games are coming, folks. Not only did the company announce a massive lineup of AAA titles during E3, but today’s Nintendo Indies Summer Showcase – or “Nindies” – showcased a whole bunch of smaller games coming to the console.

We put together a few of the highlights below, along with the entire presentation if you wanna see everything on offer.

Super Meat Boy Forever

Of course, we know the original meaty platformer is heading to the Switch, and now the sequel is too. Super Meat Boy Forever is due for a 2018 release and follows Meat Boy as he fights to rescue Bandage Girl‘s baby girl, Nugget, from the evil Dr Foetus. That motherfucker.

Watch the trailer below.

Mukala

A Zelda-esque action adventure game inspired by indigenous Tarahumara culture. It has a hella cool simplistic style that you can suss out in the trailer below. Mukala is due out early next year.

Morphies Law

Apart from the fantastic title, this third-person shooter has a very interesting concept. Coming to the console this summer, the idea is to steal mass from your enemies by shooting them. In other words, successfully hitting your target will make them shrink and you grow.

“Each weapon hit transfers mass from the victim’s inflicted limb to the corresponding limb of the wielder of the weapon,” reads the game’s description. “As an immediate consequence, skilled players become tall and easy to hit, whereas beginners shrink until they become difficult targets.”

The tallest morph suit-looking weirdo wins the round. Check it out below.

No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

Coming in 2018, Travis Strikes Again marks the third instalment in the No More Heroes series. We don’t know much about it just yet, but the trailer looks pretty sweet. See it below.

About bloody time we got some new games, huh? It’s nice to see the Switch catalogue finally filling up. You can check out everything else, including Shovel Knight: King of Cards and Battle Chef Brigade in Nintendo’s full presentation below.
