According to a couple of new job listings, Nintendo could be starting work on a new Zelda project only a year and a half after the release of its latest title, Breath of the Wild. The company is looking for a 3DCG designer and a level designer.

The listings call for candidates with experience working on action games, terrain design, and, interestingly, experience planning dungeons, fields, and enemies. In other words, you could read that as Nintendo wanting to bring back dungeons in their traditional form, which were a staple in the franchise prior to Breath of the Wild.
It’s not clear whether the project will be a brand new mainline Zelda title or something else completely. It could be something for the 3DS, DLC for Breath of the Wild, or even a Zelda mobile game, which the company is already reportedly working on.
Series producer, Eiji Aonuma, previously said there could be another Zelda game on the Nintendo Switch, but also mentioned it could be multiplayer focused, which is a possibility given the job listings are also keen for someone who has had experience with in-game events, though we don’t know whether they’re referring to story events in general, or in a multiplayer setting.
Either way, I’d wager we’ll be waiting a long time before any official announcement is made about a new Zelda title, so this is all just speculation for now.
