New ‘Far Cry’ Game’s Box Art & Name Leaked Ahead Of Ubisoft’s Announcement

Yesterday, Ubisoft released a teaser trailer for a new Far Cry game seemingly set in a nuclear-ravaged Hope County, the same map featured in Far Cry 5. Earlier today, the upcoming sequel’s name and box art have allegedly leaked.

The name is, fittingly, New Dawn, and the art follows the same pattern as previous franchise titles. It even includes the hectic sawblade crossbow from the teaser, so it looks pretty legit to me. Have a look at it below.

The leak was posted to Twitter by user, @Wario64, and has since been shared by various news outlets. The company is set to reveal more information about New Dawn at The Game Awards today, which begins at around 11:30 am AEDT.

As far as we can tell from the teaser, New Dawn begins years after the ending of Far Cry 5, where [SPOILERS] Hope County was decimated by nuclear bombs. Like the upcoming shooter, Rage 2, the fallout has cleared and survivors are emerging into a lush, reborn world.

We won’t know if any of this is legit until later today when Ubisoft makes its announcement, but it looks as though New Dawn will be a Far Cry spinoff in the same way Far Cry Primal was.
