New ‘Battlefield V’ Clip Teases First Look At Huge Battle Royale Mode

An intense new trailer for Battlefield V dropped this morning, folks, and apart from adding to the hype of the main game, we also got a brief tease of its upcoming battle royale mode.

Titled, Devastation of Rotterdam, the 2-minute video shows an action-packed battle with both cinematic and gameplay footage. Like Battlefield 1, you can expect the next game to be more of a reimagining of WWII, rather than a historically accurate piece.

Similar to Call of Duty 4‘s own battle royale reveal we get a quick peek at Battlefield’s at the end of the trailer after the title is shown. It starts with an aerial view of a snowy battlefield surrounded by a circle of fire. We then see some tense footage of a tank and a soldier before the circle rapidly shrinks, taking out buildings in the process.

You can check out the trailer in the clip below.

There’s not a lot of detail on the battle royale side of things, but it’s safe to say it’s gonna function a lot like you’d expect – a big wall of dangerous shit corralling you and everyone else into an increasingly smaller space. Where it will certainly differ, though, is being able to man vehicles. Imagine being in the last circle with a fucking tank. There’s also going to be a big focus on destructible buildings this time around.

Battlefield V launches on October 19 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, but at this stage, the battle royale mode is set to drop at some point after release.
