Sonic the Hedgehog is undoubtedly the most anticipated video game movie adaptation of the year, and not for entirely good reasons. Fans of the franchise are incredibly anxious to see how its characters will be portrayed, and now we have another pretty good look at one of them.

While Sonic himself is entirely computer generated – including his hideously buff legs – his arch nemesis, Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, will be played by Jim Carrey. If you had thoughts about Sonic’s leaked look, you may find Carrey’s Robotnik a little bit… jarring.

The image is reportedly a screenshot from the film’s first trailer, which is set for release tomorrow. It shows Carrey wearing a red jacket looking a lot like an unhinged Hank from Me, Myself and Irene.

According to Polygon, the picture is legit because, well, they’ve already seen the trailer, as have other various outlets. They also note that Robotnik’s look will reportedly change throughout the film and that this image is him at “his most normal”. It sounds like he’s going to become more rotund as the film progresses. Maybe his moustache will get more outrageous, too, who knows?

It’ll be interesting to see how both Sonic and Robotnik are portrayed in the live-action film, and it sounds like we won’t have to wait much longer for our first little taste.

Sonic the Hedgehog will hit theatres on the 9th of November.
