Fortnite just keeps on smashing records, folks. This time, it’s via YouTube rather than Twitch. The popular title now holds the record for most videos of a game uploaded in a single month in the history of the platform.
Gaming content and partnership lead for YouTube, Ryan Wyatt, announced the achievement via Twitter yesterday, also mentioning the massive number of people who tuned in to watch a tournament live stream.

That’s right, the game also set a record for the biggest single live gaming stream, raking in 1.1 million concurrent viewers. The event itself combined 100 Spanish-speaking Fortnite streamers to bring in 42 million live views in total, an absolutely massive feat.
Earlier this month, one of Twitch’s biggest streamers, Tyler ‘Ninja‘ Blevins, logged on for a session with Canadian rapper Drake, taking out a huge viewership record for the platform. Old mate Blevins is allegedly making $500,000 a month streaming himself playing the game.
While the game continues to move from strength to strength, Battle Royale competitor, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is continuing to tackle its widespread cheating issues and Xbox performance. As a fierce PUBG loyalist, I recently shared my thoughts on trying out Fortnite for the first time, which you can suss out below.
It’s a bloody crazy time for Battle Royale.
