The ‘Elder Scrolls’ Mobile Game Is Now Playable If You Wanna Give It A Go

Fans of Bethesda‘s anticipated Elder Scrolls mobile game got a nice little surprise today when the company announced that it’s now in early access. If you signed up for the waiting list, you could get a chance to give it a go pretty soon.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades was announced at E3 last year, promising console quality graphics in a smartphone game. I got to play through a short demo in October and was impressed with what the team has managed to pull off, particularly in terms of a mobile experience.

The news was announced early this morning via The Elder Scrolls’ official Twitter account, noting that players are being invited to play in waves. Like the limited free release of Morrowind, Blades early access is part of celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the franchise.

If you’re keen to play, you’ll need to sign up for a Bethesda.net account and register your interest by jumping in the queue, which you can do here. Whether you’re selected or not, all users will get to download the game and play a short tutorial on the basics of how to play. You should be able to grab it on either the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store.

When it’s your turn to play, the app itself will serve up a push notification, so you’ll know exactly when to jump in.
