WATCH: Here’s The Full Rundown Of Every Gamer You Know Inc. The Raging Bro

Did you know that 93 percent of Aussie households have at least one gaming device? We can’t bloody get enough of them.

What I’m getting at is gaming has become a huge part of how we spend our spare time these days and because of that, a whole swathe of gaming sub-genres and personalities have emerged.

Take, for example, the griefer – they get their kicks by making everyone else’s lives a living hell. Play the game like it’s meant to be played? Nope, they’re just here to annoy the crap out of you anyway they can.

And then there’s the jock gamer, the one who exists purely on a rotation of Call of DutyFIFA, and an abundance of smack talk. You know, the one who almost always refer to everyone as “bro”.

To celebrate the release of PlayStation‘s excellent new PlayLink games, we’ve put together a video showcasing the A to Z of gaming personalities you’re sure to encounter over the years. Check it out below.

For the uninitiated, PlayLink allows you and your mates to get into the action using your smartphone and the PlayLink app rather than a DualShock, which we all know is a pain to pass around the room when you’re trying to get everyone involved. It really does take party gaming to the next level because pretty much everyone has a smartphone, so jumping in is easy.

The PlayLink lineup includes SingStar Celebration, which lets you sing directly into your phone as you may have seen in our video above, the arcade-style Frantics, quiz game Knowledge is Power, and detective thriller Hidden Agenda, which tasks you and your mates with solving a heinous crime.

In other words, it’s like playing an episode of Law and Order where you all make the decisions, but some will be given objectives to complete in secret. If your crew loves getting together and watching any kind of crime shows, you’ll love this game. Suss the trailer below.

If your posse is more on the game show side of things, Knowledge is Power is probably more your bag. Go head-to-head in general knowledge and use sneaky tricks and tactics to foil your opponents. It’s a bloody laugh riot.

And then there’s That’s You, which is essentially a board game on steroids. It asks you questions like, “who is the most likely to believe in aliens”, after which you all vote on who that person playing might be. Whoever votes for the popular answer earns points while the others don’t.

There’s a heap of other little games involved as well, like taking a picture of one of your mates and drawing hilarious crap all over them.

You can suss out some more footage of PlayLink in the video below.

It’s a bloody exciting time for games, folks.
