A long time ago, before Zac Efron became Ted Bundy for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, he was simply Troy Bolton – boy of our teenage hearts. Ahead of his new movie’s Netflix release, Efron was asked about Disney‘s new High School Musical series and whether or not he’d get his head back in the game.

The series will debut on Disney’s streaming service Disney+ later this year and will follow a group of students who stage a performance of High School Musical for their winter production. Every episode will include a new version of an OG song that might just make you bop to the top all over again.

Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo, Kate Reinders, Sofia Wylie, Matt Cornett, Dara Reneé, Julia Lester, Frankie Rodriguez, Larry Saperstein, and Mark St. Cyr star.

In an interview with extratv, Efron said he’d “absolutely, 100 per cent” cameo if asked.

“I don’t see why not,” he added.

Cos he’s just a tad busy at the moment, Efron said he hadn’t heard about the new series until this interview but thinks it’s “awesome.”

A little while ago, Disney shared our first look at the cast.

You can catch Efron as serial killer Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile when it premieres May 3 on Netflix.

Directed by documentary maker Joe Berlinger, the film is a dual portrait of Bundy and his longtime partner Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins).

Bundy confessed to sexually assaulting and killing 30 women in Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, and Florida between the years 1974 and 1978. Despite his confessions, it is believed he is responsible for even more deaths.

Bundy’s case was highly publicised, even nationally televised, because of his seemingly charismatic behaviour in and out of court.
