WIN: Transform Yr Crib With $5K Worth Of Bose Gear For Ultimate Lounging

Contributor: PEDESTRIAN.TV

Have you ever wanted to be one of those people with a super luxe TV in their bedroom/a cinema-quality home theatre in your living room? Imagine how loudly and luxe your avid Q&A-watching would be then? Imagine inviting your mates over to watch election coverage coming through a soundbar hooked up to a mint subwoofer?

Well, never say we don’t ever give y’all nice things, because this comp is a hella tight one. We’ve scored the Ultimate OLED Home Theatre, worth almost $5K, to give away to one lucky person we are for sure super jealous of – and we don’t even know who it is yet.

Our generosity is only possible thanks to the y’huge heart of Paramount Pictures, who are about to thrill ‘n chill you with the release of John Krasinski‘s A Quiet Place, in cinemas April 5 (but more on that below).  If you’re interested in transforming your room/lounge into a quiet yet immensely high-tech and impressive place, we should probably further explain the Ultimate OLED Home Theatre.

It boasts an LG 55B7T 55″ 4K UHD HDR Smart OLED TV, worth $2296. 4K UHD means 4 x the pixel density of reg HD, offering a brighter picture + more detail. HDR gives your screen a broader array of colours, lightness and blacks than older TVs. OLED makes its own light when current flows through ’em – so they handle light and colour better and are thinner than LED ones. Finally a smart TV already includes software that lets ya access streaming video without an external box.

The Home Theatre system also includes black Bose QuietComfort 35 II Wireless Over-Ear Headphones, worth $499; a Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar, worth $999 (a soundbar is a bar-shaped device containing multiple speakers); as well as a black Bose Acoustimass 300 Wireless Bass Module subwoofer, worth $999 (subwoofers are like loudspeakers designed to reproduce very low bass frequencies). In short the sound quality would be EPIC.

To score yourself all that lush as hell gear, all ya gotta do is tell us in 25 words or less where your quiet place is. If it’s a good one though, you should be prepared for us to ruin it by going there from now on. Everyone needs a little bit of tranquility sometimes.

TRANSFORM YOUR PAD WITH A 5K HOME THEATRE

Now about the film – the chilling thriller, co-written by Krasinski, stars the man himself and his absolutely gorge wife, Emily Blunt, in their first major film collab. They play the heads of a family living in a post-apocalyptic America plagued by mysterious creatures who hunt through sound. It means the fam must live and communicate in silence, using sign language, sand paths, signal fires and more. Basically they’ve gotta use their sheer ingenuity to stay under the creatures’ radar and survive another day, because if they hear you, they hunt you.

The film effectively turns thriller/scary movie conventions on their head, by largely removing the element of sound in order to create suspense, relying instead on unique and haunting imagery: the sparseness of their darkened home, the endlessness of the forest, the ever-present threat of something just out of eyeshot; and the intimate and loving relationships between Blunt, Krasinski and their two children.

We’ll let the trailer (not) speak for itself:

Currently looking for volunteers for someone to hold my hand in the theatre.
