Chopra Jonas will develop the film alongside director Barry Levinson (Rain Man).

Wild Wild Country is a fascinating look into controversial guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, otherwise known as Osho, and his cult.

The Rajneeshpuram community – his followers – lived in the Oregon desert, resulting in a heap of tension and conflict with the locals.

As you can imagine, the Rajneeshpuram community made a ton of headlines during their time. To combat it, Rajneesh’s secretary turned spokeswoman Ma Anand Sheela was responsible for dealing with the media.

In Australia, Sheela will forever be known as the woman who appeared on 60 Minutes and uttered the phrase “tough titties” to Ian Leslie when he told her “we don’t want the Rajneeshees, we don’t want the orange people in our town.”

Speaking to DeGeneres, Chopra Jonas revealed the film will focus on Sheela.

“We’re developing it as the character of Sheela, who was this guru who originated from India, his [ Osho’s] right-hand woman. And she was just devious and created a whole cult in America, brought people here,” Chopra Jonas told Ellen.

“He was called Osho… but it [the documentary] was amazing and I’m developing that next – to star in and produce, which I think would be really cool.”

You can find Wild Wild Country on Netflix.
