Which Arnold Flick Gets You To The Chopper: ‘Kindergarten Cop’ Or ‘Twins’?

We all love ourselves a good, old-fashioned arbitrary argument, we do. There’s nothing quite like bickering endlessly over subjective stuff in arguments that have no definitive answer nor any real consequences. But what if we told you there was a way to not only fight for your favourites, but physically see the fruits of victory as well? PEDESTRIAN.TV has teamed up with 9Go! for Big Flick Energy: A weekly clash of cinematic titans where you – yes, YOU – get to help choose which of two classic movies actually winds up going to air on your televiz. We present you with two options, you vote for your favourite, the winner gets aired on 9G0! Wednesday night at 9pm. Absolute piece of cake.

On deck this week: Not one, but two Arnold Schwarzenegger classics that will get you unto the chopper: Kindergarten Cop and Twins.

In the former, Ivan Reitman-directed Kindergarten Cop, Ahnohld takes the form of LAPD Detective John Kimble, who goes undercover as a, would you believe, kindergarten teacher in order to track down the estranged ex-wife and child of a drug king pin in order to get them to testify. Along the way, Kimble’s massive exterior crumbles as he settles into his new role as a teacher of tiny students, assuaging the fears of one little hypochondriac that his headache is not, in fact, a tuhmah.

Twins (also directed by Reitman), on the other hand, is a film in which Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny De Vito are twins.

Kindergarten Cop plays on the action hero archetype that Arnold himself made famous throughout the 80s, breaking down era-constructed ideals of hulking masculinity and showing a depth of vulnerability and emotional resonance he had yet to tap into on screen at that point. But in Twins, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny De Vito are twins.

We simply cannot decide which one to put on the air, so it’s up to you to decide. Head on over to our Big Flick Energy website to slap your vote down, and keep your eyes peeled on 9Go! next Wednesday at 9pm for the winner. Arnold might be Republican, but this is your democratic right.
