The Very Unholy ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Spin-Off Is Coming To SBS

By the grace of the unholy (paranormal) ghosts, Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s What We Do In The Shadows spin-off mockumentary is coming to SBS, THIS MONTH.

MATES LOOK:

YES, IT BLOODY IS.

Wellington Paranormal gives us a terrifying insight into the world of Wellington’s ~ active ~ paranormal division lead by Maaka Pohatu and familiar faces Karen O’Leary and Mike Minogue – our fave pure-hearted coppers.

The series will premiere on TVNZ 2 for Kiwi punters but us Aussies will cop the six-part series at the end of the month on Tuesday 31 July, with a bloody double episode. Afterwards, we’ll get an episode a week on SBS Viceland.

In the case you’re watching/being forced to watch Masterchef (and alike) then you can also stream the series on SBS on Demand.

Or alternatively, you can wait until August 28 to binge the series in its entirety.

If you haven’t gotten ’round the extremely delightful trailer yet then you can check it out, below:

In other very exciting Taika x Clement news, there’s another Shadows spin-off currently in play. This one will air on US cable network FX and will premiere next year. The yet-to-be-named series shall be based in New York and follow the lives of American vampire mates.

(Even though this is very far off) There’s going to be an official sequel to Shadows some time in the future. Waititi gifted the world the news during his Thor: Ragnarok press tour. This will be another mockumentary about a coupla supernatural beings but this time, we’ll be keeping up with a bunch of werewolves.

The flick has been appropriately named We’re Wolves

Fingers crossed Rhys Darby returns to tell us “Werewolves not swearwolves.”

Again, this is a y’huge work in progress so it might be some time before we see this beauty on our screens. But until then, at least we have Wellington Paranormal.

P.S I guess he was telling the truth.
