It’s that time of year when we start to get an idea of which US TV shows will and won’t be coming back for another season, and cross our fingers that our faves won’t get the chop. This has already been a rough week, what with the news that the Fox network cancelled the beloved Brooklyn-Nine Nine, but it’s just one of many, many shows that were either axed, or are wrapping up their last seasons in 2018.

Things are actually pretty bleak for comedy fans, with a number of beloved series like PortlandiaNew Girl and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt all airing or about to air their final seasons, and cult hits Great News and Last Man On Earth getting the axe. (Confusingly, Fox is reviving a different sitcom with a near-identical title: Last Man Standing, starring Tim Allen).

Over on NetflixChelsea Handler‘s talk show will be wrapping up, along with the aforementioned Kimmy SchmidtLady DynamiteLoveHaters Back Off and Disjointed, a stoner comedy with Kathy Bates that I never actually knew existed until it got canned. Sorry about that, Kathy Bates.
