It’s a classic summer scenario: a beachside retreat, interrupted by the appearance of a demented family of doppelgängers. It seems strange nobody has put that ubiquitous experience to film already, but the first full trailer for Us proves Jordan Peele continues to be a filmmaking pioneer.

Featuring Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Anna Diop, Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker (!) and young gun Evan Alex, the highly-anticipated follow-up to Get Out already seems every bit as horrifying.
The clip already hearkens to modern classics like Funny Games, and yeah, there’s a splash of Stanley Kubrick in there for good measure. It’s a lot, but probably not enough to keep horror fans from bum-rushing cinemas when Us premieres early next year.
Meanwhile, if you think you’ve cooked up a script worthy of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Peele, you can hurl your submission in to his production company Monkeypaw. Maybe rework the part about an overall-clad posse of murderous mimics, though.
