The first proper trailer for Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the The Nutcracker ballet story, itself a take on the 1816 novel The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, has dropped this morning and it’s brimming with Yuletide madness.
Set to the famous Dance of the Plum Fairy tune that’s featured in every single christmas themed thing ever, the trailer sees an eye-patch wearing Morgan Freeman doing what he does best, narrating the shit out of things, as Mackenzie Foy (she was Bella’s weird vampire spawn in Twilight) journey’s into an alternate dimension where Christmas is broken… or something.
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is also set to feature Kiera Knightley as well as Helen Mirren as the main villain and the whole vibe is very Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.
