Tim Gunn & Heidi Klum Are Leaving ‘Project Runway’ For A New Amazon Show

In what is truly the end of an era, Project Runway host Heidi Klum and her ever-present sidekick Tim Gunn have announced that they are leaving the beloved series and will be moving to a brand new show at Amazon.

The pair, who featured on the show for 14 years and 16 seasons, are set to star in an as-yet-untitled fashion competition series – the new show will reportedly be “shoppable”, and will aim to “make fashion accessible to a wide and global audience.”

Heidi Klum released a statement about her departure, saying:

“After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create. I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers.”

Tim Gunn said:

“I am grateful to Project Runway for putting me on a path I never, in my wildest dreams, thought my career would take me! I am so proud to have been a part of the groundbreaking process that showcased talented young designers as never before. Most importantly, I am indebted to our incredible fans, they are the heart and soul of what we do, and continue to inspire us to raise the bar in this arena.”

Project Runway is set to return to it’s original home of Bravo for its 17th season, and the network has promised that the series “will continue its iconic impact”, with a new host and mentor set to be announced very soon.

While I don’t know how I’ll live without a constant barrage of Tim Gunn-isms like, “make it work”, “that concerns me” and “use the Piperlime accessories wall very thoughtfully”, it will be intriguing to see what the future holds both for Project Runway and the new Amazon series.
