Henry Cavill and his luscious platinum mane have returned in the new The Witcher trailer. And guess what, folks? We finally have a release date – December 20, lock it in.
Cavill stars as the great Geralt of Rivia, otherwise known as the White Wolf or the delightful Butcher of Blaviken, in this live-action adaptation of the bestselling novels and video game series.
Netflix’s official synopsis reads as such: “Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.”
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who you may know for her work on The Defenders and Daredevil, serves as showrunner.
The White Wolf, he cometh.

Cavill is actually the biggest nerd when it comes to The Witcher. Behold, Cavill talking about the books, how he just replayed The Witcher 3, and his interest in playing the White Wolf in the Netflix series, which at the time had just been recently announced.
