HEAD’S UP: The Lonely Island Is Dropping *Something* On Netflix Today

In the grand tradition of releasing stuff with no warning or fanfare, it would appear that The Lonely Island is preparing to releasing something today without warning or fanfare. Just what in the blue hell they’re planning to release, however, is another thing entirely.

The comedy trio comprising of Andy SambergJorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer emerged out of the fog earlier this morning to announce that something or other would be arriving on Netflix later today. Not tomorrow, not later this week, not next month. Today. In a mere matter of hours.

In a very simple Tweet, the gang teased what’s apparently called a “Visual Poem” in a very short six-second video.

Assuming when they mention “midnight” they’re referring to New York time, that would mean whatever the hell this is will arrive on Netflix at approximately 2pm AEST this afternoon.

And that, quite literally, is all we know.

There’s some scattered chatter regarding the very brief teaser from at least one Lonely Island member, as well as folks who have apparently seen the whatever-it-is already, and they all appear to be pretty charged up about it.

As for the rest of us, we’ve only got a few more hours to wait until we all find out together.

So get about your day, have a little lunch, and then it’ll be time for… whatever this probably good thing is.

A little Thursday treatie for sweetie.
