Hope you didn’t intend on sleeping tonight ‘coz the first official film poster for the forthcoming The Joker movie has been unveiled and it’s as freaky as you’d imagine.

In the terrifying pic, Joaquin Phoenix appears with full Joker makeup (albeit smeared), leaning back and starring up at the title and tagline, “Put on a happy face.”
Todd Phillips, the director of the standalone film, shared the poster to his Instagram and teased that the first trailer will be released tomorrow.
“Teaser trailer tomorrow. #JokerMovie,“ he wrote.
The premise for the highly anticipated film is as follows:
In 1981, a failed stand-up comedian, disregarded by his society, turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City.
Phillips previously shared a brief camera test clip, featuring Phoenix in full scary clown makeup along with a makeup-free Joaquin.
The Joker is said to be released later this year.
