The film is, of course, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, which was first adapted to film back in 1989. Set in a small town in the state of Maine, USA, the story follows a doctor and his family who discover a creepy ancient burial ground that can bring the dead back to life, which is not ideal, especially when you’re new to the area.

Fuck that. I mean, I love animals and all, but if I had the option to bring one back in strange and creepy Stephen King way, I simply would not. John Lithgow‘s right, mates, sometimes dead IS better.

Besides Lithgow, the flick also stars Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz, who also played Becky Ives in Stranger Things.

Pet Sematary will hit theatres on April 5, and if you’re after more of Stephen King’s fucked up creations, IT: Chapter Two is due for release on the 6th of September.
