Zac Efron Is Here To Murder Your Morals In First Trailer For Ted Bundy Film

Zac Efron, Ted Bundy

It’s still wild to think that Zac Efron, aka Troy Bolton from the wholesome-as-hell High School Musical series, is playing Ted Bundy in a film about the notorious serial killer, but here we are. What a time to be alive, folk.

The first trailer for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile arrived overnight, and it looks like one hell of a wild ride. The film co-stars Lily Collins as Liz Kloepfer, the woman he dated during his murderous rampage, and Jim Parsons as a prosecutor trying to take him down.

Ted Bundy infamously relied on his good looks and charm to lure dozens of women to their deaths, and it seems like the film fully leans into that, with the trailer featuring its share of gratuitous shirtlessness and women swooning over the killer in a court room.

Efron said of Extremely Wicked:

“I think the movie itself is really deep. It doesn’t really glorify Ted Bundy. He wasn’t a person to be glorified. It simply tells a story and sort of how the world was able to be charmed over by this guy who was notoriously evil and the vexing position that so many people were put in, the world was put in.”

The film also stars John Malkovich, Brian Geraghty and James Hetfield of Metallica.
