Watch Taron Egerton Sing ‘Rocket Man’ In 1st Trailer For Elton John Biopic

The first trailer for Rocketman has dropped and hoo boy it looks real gewd.

Kingsman‘s Taron Egerton stars as a young Sir Elton John in the years before his critically acclaimed album Honky Château in 1972, the album Rocket Man’ was released on.

Billy Elliot otherwise known as Jamie Bell stars as John’s music partner Bernie Taupin while Bryce Dallas Howard plays John’s mother. Paramount Pictures promises this flick will be an “uncensored human story” so buckle up.

Dexter Fletcher, who has previously worked with Egerton, helms the film. Interestingly, Fletcher replaced Bryan Singer as director on that other y’huge musical biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Starring alongside Sir Elton John in Kingsman: The Golden Circle is one thing, starring as Sir Elton John is another but singing – singing as Sir Elton John is next level and Egerton DOES IT. That is his voice you will be hearing in the trailer.

You may be surprised to learn this isn’t Egerton’s first singing role. Back in 2016, Egerton voiced the role of Johnny the teenage gorilla in the animated musical Sing.

Anywhoo, Rocketman will hit cinemas May 2019.

Catch the trailer, below.

Last week, we copped our first look of Egerton as John and those shoes are just perfection.

Rocketman is the latest musical biopic to hit the big screen, preceded by Bohemian Rhapsody starring Rami Malek as the legendary Freddie Mercury.

P.S I got super curious and YouTubed Egerton singing in Sing and here we are.
