‘Kingsman’ Star Taron Egerton Says Eggsy Won’t Be Back In The Next Movie

Taron Egerton as Eggsy in Kingsman 2

Kingsman lad Taron Egerton has revealed he won’t be in the next Kingsman movie which is just slightly concerning but according to the actor, this isn’t the last we’ll see of our beloved Eggsy.

Egerton, who plays Garry ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in the first two films of the dapper franchise, dropped the news during an interview with Yahoo Movies UK for his latest film Robin Hood.

“I don’t know how hot off the press this is, and I think I’m allowed to say it, but I’m not in the next Kingsman movie,” Egerton said.

Keyword being “next”. I bring this up because there’s apparently a prequel in the works so this could be the reason why Egerton’s not in this “next” film.

That doesn’t mean I won’t be in Kingsman ever again. I was with Matthew [Vaughn] as little as a few days ago, we’re still very much in business together, but his next journey in that world doesn’t involve me.”

Folks, that sounds a lot like a spin-off/prequel talk.

Egerton described the next film as “incredibly exciting” before again confirming that this is not the “last you’ve seen of Eggsy”.

HMM.

Back in June, director Matthew Vaughn told Empire magazine that a prequel was in the works reportedly by the name of Kingsman: The Great Game. This will dive into the spy organisation in the early 1900s. Since then, there’s been a couple of rumours flying about, the most popular being that Ralph Fiennes may star in the movie alongside Harris Dickinson.

British Daily Mail journo Baz Bamigboye broke the news but Kingsman have not confirmed it.

So, there ya go.

As it stands, this untitled Kingsman movie is set to be released on November 9, 2019.

Robin Hood (not so great looking film) will hit cinemas in Australia, November 22. Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin, and Jamie Dornan co-star. To catch the trailer, click HERE

Or, you can hold off until the very good looking film, Rocketman, – Elton John‘s biopic – comes out in May 2019.
