Quentin Taratino‘s long-held and unabashed love of Australian film talent will continue in the much vaunted Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, with the veteran director officially tapping an Aussie actor to play infamous serial killer Charles Manson in the film.

Damon Herriman, who has been around the Australian film and TV block a couple of times or maybe more, will fill the minor role of Manson in the film, which is set in and around the time of the infamous Manson Family murders in 1969, specifically that of Sharon Tate at the home of her husband Roman Polanski.
Fellow Aussie Margot Robbie has been cast as Tate in the film, which centres on a one-time mainstay TV actor and his stunt double – played by Leonard DiCaprio and Brad Pitt – as they try and make a name for themselves amidst the changing face of Hollywood in the late 60s.
The ensemble cast for the film is unbelievably stacked, and already sports the likes of Burt Reynolds, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, Lena Dunham, Luke Perry, Emilie Hirsch, Rumer Willis, Tim Roth, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell, and James Marsden.
Herriman’s addition is likely to be quite a major one, given how intrinsically linked Tate and Manson are, and given how previous reports have stated that Robbie’s role as Tate is set to be a significant one in the movie.
Herriman has a laundry list of past credits, but American audiences probably best know him from his recurring role as Dewey Crowe on Justified, which he played in all but one of the show’s six seasons.

Filming on the movie began back in June in and around Los Angeles, and is expected to continue until around November.
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is slated for release on July 26th, 2019.
