‘Stranger Things’ Might Not Return Til 2019 & We Are Demogorgonna Flip Shit

We all knew this was a pretty solid possibility, but not many of us were willing to confront it as a reality: Stranger Things might not be back until 2019.

It took the smash hit Netflix series a solid 15 months to pump out its long-awaited second season in October, after dropping its debut season in July of 2016. Logic dictates that a similar timeline means that 2018 would come and go without so much as a whiff of what was going on in Hawkins. But for the first time a member of the show’s cast has suggested that season three won’t arrive until we’ve all put 2018 well and truly in the bank.

David Harbour – who you all know as the affable police chief Jim Hopper – spoke to Variety and suggested that those of you holding out hope for a new season next year can just about forget it, confirming that the show is tentatively scheduled to go into production around April.

I think we’re supposed to go into production around April. We’ll see, though. I mean, one of the things that’s annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them. Like, you probably won’t get [Season 3] until sometime in 2019.

That’s the bad news. The good news is his reasoning for a lengthy delay and production process is rock solid, and will only serve to enhance whatever winds up becoming of the show’s third dig.

But also part of the thing is, like any good thing, they need time. And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day. And the scripts are so sophisticated, but that only comes with time. So the more time they take, the better the scripts are, so that to me is the most important thing.

You never undercook the cake, otherwise you wind up with a sloppy mess.

So it’s probably gonna be a while till we get more new eps. In the meantime, try and quell that dull ache of longing by gazing at the blessed Steve.

At least we have Steve.

No matter what, we’ll always have Steve.
