Steven Yeun & A Bunch Of Actors You Stan Join New Animated Series ‘Invincible’

Steven Yeun

*inhales deeply* Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, Mark Hamil, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Zazie Beetz, J.K. Simmons, and Jason Mantzoukas have all signed on to star in comic book writer Robert Kirkman‘s animated series Invincible.

Between those names you have Star Wars, Killing Eve, The Walking Dead, Community, Deadpool 2, Whiplash, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

And that’s not even the entire voice cast.

If Kirkman’s name is ringing a bell, he’s the bloke behind The Walking Dead comic book series.

Invincible, based on the comic book of the same name, tells the tale of Mark Greyson (Yeun), whose father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (Simmons). As Mark’s powers begin to grow, he slowly uncovers the truth about his father’s heroic legacy.

It’s still extremely early days so not too much else is known but according to The Hollywood Reporterfans can expect eight episodes, each an hour long.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars executive producer Catherine Winder is also attached to the project as are Ultimate Spider-Man‘s Justin and Chris Copeland as supervising directors.

This all sounds extremely promising.

The animated series is slated for a 2020 release on Amazon.

CUTE FACT: the series will reunite Kirkman with Yeun, who starred as Glenn Rhee on The Walking Dead for seven seasons before his character… (spoiler alert) brutally died. Fun times.
