EW’s ‘The Last Jedi’ Edition Offers A Sneaky Peep At Some Series Newcomers

As the hype for Star Wars: The Last Jedi crescendoes, we feel the need to make one thing eminently clear: we would lay down our lives for Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, and it would be an honour.

We are, of course, talking about Laura Dern’s platinum-haired Resistance leader, who features on one of four new Entertainment Weekly covers dedicated to the latest instalment of the sci-fi franchise.

EW has released images of the four alternate covers for the upcoming December 1 issue, which tease appearances from saga stalwarts Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher, in one of her final cinematic roles).

The modern Star Wars order of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Rey (Daisy Ridley), BB-8, Finn (John Boyega), and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) are also joined by newcomers Dern and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) on the flash covers.

The issue features a bevy of never-before-seen images from the film, including a meeting between Kylo Ren and Rey, and shot of director Rian Johnson having an on-set chat with the permanently excellent Fisher. You can scope ’em out HERE.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in Australian cinemas on December 14.
