A few weeks back, Sophie Monk said that she had found love in a hopeless place on this season of The Bachelorette, and honestly, we’re bloody delighted for her, as our Soph is a national treasure who deserves nothing but the best.
Two episodes in, there are a few blokes who are sticking out as potential picks, but overnight, Sophie herself might have just dropped a gigantic hint in the caption of an Instagram post.
“When your besties get you ready for dinner [because] you are hopeless and want to wear ugg boots,” she wrote, a seemingly fairly innocuous statement which is loaded with meaning thanks to the prominence of uggs so far this season.
Two of the blokes have (so far) given her ugggies as gifts. The first of these was investor and entrepreneur Blake, who slipped her a pair of the super comfy footwear on the first night, in a gift box that also included some vino.
The second was hunky vineyard manager Jarrod, who gifted them to her after their first date, which involved high-wire fuckery followed by the first kiss of the season.
Now, this obviously doesn’t mean that Sophie will pick one of the two, but it seems like a pretty strong hint, so which one could it be?
Entrepreneur and possible future Ferrari owner Blake proved that he has a pretty magnificent rig in the Garden of Eden photo shoot, although I feel, in the parlance of every Bachie contestant, that he might not be in this for the right reasons, and that Soph will sniff this out eventually.
Jarrod, on the other hand, seems like a real contender. He’s a tiny bit overbearing, but honestly, the minute he took charge and saved Sophie from that awful high wire contraption, my lady parts became a waterfall, and I was like, PUT A BABY IN ME NOW, DADDY, MY BODY IS READY.
Earlier this week, Sohie told Nova that she plans to leave the country for a bit, as she’s afraid that if she sticks around, she’ll spoil the ending of The Bachelorette. “I know I’ve got no willpower, and so that I don’t weaken, I’m going overseas,” she said.
So there you have it, it may not be one of these two – for all we know, Apollo might pull some uggs out of a hat in a later episode, or the ugg thing might just be a gigantic red herring – but if it is one of these two, my money’s probably got to be on Jarrod.
