It’s official, folks. The Shape of Water – also known as the Horny Fish Fuckstravaganza and Grinding Nemo, is the top film of the year. Beating out the widely tipped Three Billboards, Guillermo del Toro‘s fantasy romance has won Best Picture at the Oscars.
Look, despite the dismissive headline the film was incredibly lovely, and served as a tribute to some of the best aspects of Hollywood in addition to just being a deeply beautiful and satisfying romance. Check out the moment it won:

This is the first Best Picture win for del Toro. It had a lot of buzz going in, given the fact that it scored a mammoth 12 nominations.
“I want to dedicate this to the young film-makers; the youth who are showing [us] how things are done,” del Toro said.
Good work mate. Here’s to many more films about a horny fish dude in the future.
