The enormously successful 2014 mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows has a coupla spin-offs on the way much to the extreme happiness and delight of fans.

Earlier this year we were thrilled to find out Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement are officially behind a spin-off that’ll air on US cable network FX. That one will premiere next year and will be based in New York with a whole new cast, while Waititi and Clement work their magic behind the camera. Much alike Shadows, this particular spin-off will concentrate on a group of vampire mates.

But in less than two weeks, New Zealand’s TVNZ 2 are copping a half-hour series spin-off based on a group of police officers investigating totally normal supernatural and paranormal cases. The division’s headed by actor Maaka Pohatu and you can damn well expect to see Karen O’Leary and Mike Minogue reprise their roles as our favourite/pure/heart of gold dedicated police officers.

Truly a work of art.

The new six-part series is called Wellington Paranormal and both Waititi and Clement are the brains behind the show alongside fellow writer and producer Paul Yates.

You can check out the trailer, below – it’s truly spooky:

Wellington Paranormal will premiere July 11 on TVNZ 2. As for Australian viewers… well:

(Don’t illegally stream it, very bad – should’t do it – totally won’t stream it – BAD.)

Also, because we haven’t been spoilt enough, What We Do In The Shadows will have an official SEQUEL written and directed by Waititi and Clement. It’ll be another mockumentary following a pack of werewolves and the title’s We’re Wolves (punny as hell) as confirmed by Waititi in an interview during his Thor: Ragnarok press tour last year.

Although, this sequel won’t be happening for a very long time.

As Waititi said:

“We are notoriously terrible at writing together, Jemaine and I. Usually takes place over emails. So we’ll email each other one line of dialogue once a month. ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ took six years to write.”

It’ll undoubtedly be worth the wait.

Relive the GLORY:
