Seth Rogen’s New Comedy About A Pickled Man Just Announced An Aussie Lead

Seth Rogen‘s upcoming comedy about a pickled man – don’t ask – has just dropped its first list of cast members, who’ll be starring alongside the cuddly stoner, Deadline writes.

And one of them is an Aussie with plenty of accomplishments in the local film scene, who’s just starting to break out in the US.

Sarah Snook won all the awards back in 2014 for her role in Aussie sci-fi flick, Predestination, and has since starred in The Secret River, The Beautiful Lie, The Dressmaker and Holding the Man. Lately, she’s copped a few roles stateside, including in the Steve Jobs biopic and in The Glass Castle with Brie Larson and fellow ‘Strayan Naomi Watts. Plus she  ‘s one of the leads in HBO‘s media empire drama Succession this year.

Rogen’s added her to his cast for this strange pickling romp, along with a raft of other up-and-coming actors Maya Erskine, Eliot Glazer, Kalen Allen, Molly Evensen, and Kevin O’Rourke.

The flick’s the directorial debut of Brandon Trost, the director of photography on Bad Neighbours and The Disaster Artist. It’s based on a serialised story screenwriter Simon Rich originally wrote for The New Yorker in 2013.

It apparently tells the deeply bewildering – and potentially very weed-friendly – story of an immigrant factory worker, played by Rogen, who falls into a vat of pickles in 1918 “and is brined for 100 years“.

He’s preserved and emerges in 2018 Brooklyn, and goes to find his family, which is by now only his computer programmer great-grandson, also played by Rogen. Classic fish out of water story here, mates!

Anyway, to conclude, here’s a picture of Rogen, Jonah Hill and some of the cast from Jersey Shore. You’re welcome.
