If there’s any creative environment in the world where the adage “there’s no such thing as a bad idea” is most heavily utilised it has to be the ‘Rick & Morty‘ writer’s room.
The balls-to-the-wall insane show has already pushed the limits of what an adult cartoon can achieve in its two-and-a-half seasons, and last night’s episode once again threw cohesive narrative out the fucking window, with a “clip show” style (of sorts) look at all of the memories Morty has asked Rick to remove since they began their eternally morally grey adventures.
Some of the memories are heavy AF, as to be expected from a show which rarely pulls any punches, but as revealed by ‘R&M‘ writer Dan Guterman on Twitter overnight, the eight or so “lost” stories explored were just the tip of a super dank iceberg:
I got some things through but a lot of my ideas ended up being “too weird” for that episode.

“Too weird”? For Rick and Morty fans, no such thing exists.
Thankfully Guterman kicked off a tweet-chain detailing some of the ‘Blowers’ that didn’t make the cut, and hot-damn some of them would have been spicy as hell:

Guterman even included this full script of a very short R&M story he once pitched:

Thankfully Guterman admits that, much like the ‘Interdimensional Cable‘ episodes of which they’ve been two so far, there are definite plans to do another ‘Morty’s Blowers’ episode somewhere down the track.
Hot damn I love this motherfucking show.
