Reese Witherspoon Was Casually Papped Hurling Ice-Cream At Meryl Streep

The title says it all, to be honest. Reese Witherspoon has been papped hurling a good dollop of ice-cream at Meryl Streep on the set of Big Little Lies season two. And as Witherspoon tweeted, “I got her”. 

So back in April, we found out the revered, the unstoppable, the beloved Meryl Streep would be joining the cast of multi-award winning series Big Little Lies. In season one alone, the show already had an incredible cast with names like Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, and Shailene Woodley joining Witherspoon.

Not to mention Zoë Kravitz and Alexander Skarsgård and Adam Scott – I’ll stop now.

As Kidman revealed in an Instagram post earlier this year – Streep plays the mummy-in-law of her character Celeste Wright. 

I think it’s the hair – but Streep looks terrifying:

Now, fans are patiently waiting for season two to hit HBO and these pap shots from either The Image Direct or Goff Photos are not helping:

The first picture, for obvious reasons, did the rounds on the internet leading one fan to tweet: “I am praying Reese pelts Meryl with that ice cream.” 

Well, according to Witherspoon she damn well did:

Just your average day on the job – throwing ice-cream at Meryl goddamn Streep.

Of course, the pictures have become a meme which is no surprise because it’s so bloody iconic. And Streep is just an integral part of meme culture now.

As for the two incredible actors, you can (sort of) catch Streep in Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. But we’re going to have to wait ’til season two of Big Little Lies to see Witherspoon in action, otherwise known as early 2019.

Never forget: earlier this year Witherspoon spectacularly announced the return of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde 3 which is currently in pre-production and due for release in 2020.
