Now then, this is as rumour mill as rumour mill gets, but it’s still a spicy meatball: Rebel Wilson and a bunch of her fellow castmates may have just teased a Pitch Perfect 4 and hooooooo boy, here we go.

The insanely profitable film franchise had its third instalment released in 2017, making money hand over first and providing a fairly compelling monetary argument for continuing things. Since then there’s been the odd whisper here and there, but nothing quite as concrete as this.
Wilson gathered alongside fellow Bellas Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, and Chrissie Fit to celebrate Camp’s birthday overnight, in a party that featured, among other things, a custom photobooth.
Wilson, Camp, Snow, and Fit then piled on in to said booth, snapping a photo that all four of them have since plastered all over social media, featuring the group holding up four fingers.
Four.
Pitch Perfect 4.
Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what’s going on here, folks.

Both Fit and Camp quote tweeted the photo, adding their own variations of four emojis, leading intrepid fans on social media down a particularly tuneful rabbit hole, with many pointing out the symbolism of the fingers given the first hint of Pitch Perfect 3 was along similar lines.
– camp, snow, rebel, and chrissie hollering at a photobooth where the four of them are holding up 4 fingers.
– rebel tweets the video with 4 hearts as the caption
– camp quote tweets it with two peace signs, i.e. FOUR FINGERSme re: #PP4 : pic.twitter.com/eaykJG26q8

Does this mean it’s officially on? Are we going back in for another dig? Will this franchise simply continue until such time as it no longer makes untold amounts of cash?
The best answer right now is “maybe.” But for the moment it’s certainly not “no.” And that, right there, is something.
