Quentin Tarantino’s latest film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival yesterday to rave reviews.

Critics were absolutely brimming with positivity over the film, with many saying that it is Tarantino’s best work since Pulp Fiction.

But during a press conference after the premiere, a journalist from The New York Times had a different take, criticising the fact that Aussie star Margot Robbie apparently doesn’t have many lines.

“Quentin, you have put Margot Robbie, a very talented actress, in your film,” she begins.

“She was with Leonardo in Wolf of Wall Street, i Tonya, this is a person with a great deal of acting talent, yet you haven’t given her many lines in the movie.”

She adds, “I guess that was a deliberate choice on your part and I just wanted to know why we don’t hear her speaking very much.”

Margot Robbie plays slain actress Sharon Tate in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Now, anyone who knows (or knows of) Quentin would be aware that this question would get a rise out of him and he bluntly responded, “I just reject your hypotheses.”

Robbie, who plays Sharon Tate, the real-life actress who was murdered by Charles Manson’s followers, then added her own response to the question.

“I think the moments I was on screen gave a moment to honour Sharon. I think the tragedy was the loss of innocence. To show the wonderful sides of her could be done without speaking.

“I did feel like I got a lot of time to explore the character without dialogue, which is an interesting thing. Rarely do I get an opportunity to spend so much time on my own as a character.”

Cop Quentin’s salty response here. The film is set to be released on August 15, 2019.
