Queer Eye We're in Japan

YOU GUYS IT’S HERE. Netflix has finally given us our first look at the Queer Eye: We’re in Japan special, and I love it so much already.

The special season will follow the Fab 5 – Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Tan France, and Antoni Porowski – as they bring their message of self-care and compassion to four Japanese men and women. They’re joined by American-Japanese model Kiko Mizuhara as their guide, with a special guest appearance from comedian and actor Naomi Watanabe.

J’ADORE.

Yes, November is a little while away but that gives us plenty of time to re-binge Queer Eye season 4, which only just came out in July. Also, seasons 1 to 3. And that mini-episode in Yass, Australia. Plenty of wholesome content to get you to November.

Earlier this year in an interview with Deadline, food and wine angel Antoni Porowski shared that he initially thought filming in Japan was going to be a “real challenge with the language barrier.”

“We had a translator, which definitely made our job as hosts a lot easier, but what was really touching was that there was the lag in which the translator would basically switch from Japanese to English or vice versa, and you could see what we were saying hit our heroes. It had a slightly delayed reaction, but it forced that connection to really hit hard—and again, it was just a testament to the universality of this show, and the message that we try to carry forth in every single episode.”

Queer Eye: We’re in Japan hits Netflix November 1. Add it to your list right here.
