‘The Project’ Fixed That Ratshit Anti-SSM Ad & It’s Much Better Thnx

It can be really exhausting to live as a member of the LGBTQI community and have to be exposed to every single thing that homophobes and anti-equality activists say, as you are constantly exposed to a torrent of opinions, blogs, news stories, pamphlets, radio, videos and ads from them.

Besides throwing away your computer and phone and going to live in a tree in the woods, there isn’t much you can do to avoid copping all of this bullshit. It can truly be hard to deal with, and can start to wear you down. But there are a couple of things that are personally helping me to get through it. First is that I am finding solace in my community, and spending time with people who understand, and who feel the same.

The other main way I find I can deal with these shitty people? It is to make fun of them, and to mock them as much as humanly possible. The old saying about if you aren’t laughing, you will be crying? That is based in something.

It also helps that they are often so easily mockable, because they have bad arguments, and generally are not that great at getting them across. Sometimes it can help to take their power away, and that is life-giving.

It also helps if other people make fun of them, and join in on the fun. Tonight on ‘The Project‘, they did just that, with Peter Helliar bringing up the controversial anti-SSM ad that aired last night, and claiming that he had exclusively found the footage from the ad that had ended up on the cutting room floor.

Essentially it shows the original Concerned Mums from the ad, and cutaways to new and improved answers to their stupid claims. For example, to the claim made in the ad that after marriage equality, programs about gender education will become compulsory, a woman is shown responding: “Have you checked Snopes, because that sounds like bullshit.”

Yesssss. Watch the whole thing below:
