The Premiere Date For S6 Of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Just Landed & We Can’t Wait

The most wholesome series announced the news via Instagram earlier today. In almost exactly two months we will finally know if Holt got the Commissioner gig.

In the first coupla teasers for the new season, we’ve seen Holt (Andre Braugher) head out on what appears to be Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero)’s honeymoon. Which may imply he does not. But we don’t know that yet, I’m still hopeful for him.

We also catch the moment after the team here some potentially disappointing news, which may or may not relate to the “new beat” referenced in the below 15-second teaser. Can it still be Brooklyn Nine-Nine if they’re working the 97th, or worse still, the 98th precinct?

Back in October, Chelsea Peretti aka fan fave Gina said that she wouldn’t be returning for a full season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She was absent until ep ten of season five too, both Peretti and her character taking time off for maternity leave.

What else do we know about the upcoming season? We know it’ll be 18 eps long, and will include both an episode dedicated to the blunders of Hitchcock and Scully, another featuring the greatest frenemy of all, Craig Robinson‘s Pontiac Bandit, and an episode focusing on the #MeToo movement.

It is incredibly likely that the new season will, like seasons prior, be fastracked our way way care of SBS Viceland, probably starting January 11.

You can catch up on the rest of Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Netflix now.
