‘Predator’ Copped A Generic Looking Reboot & Fans Already Hate It

Yet again, another reboot is on its way and this time the people with the money have sunk their claws into the Predator franchise.

The teaser trailer for the film hit Youtube overnight with its release date circled for some time in September. The cast includes Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Niall Matter, Jake Busey, Edward James Olmos, and Keegan Michael Kay.

Lots of characters, lots of people for the Predator to hunt.

The remake will also be set between Predator 2 (1990) and the most recent in the series, Predators (2010).

And depending on your opinion about IronMan 3this next part will either delight you or make you more salty.

The film is directed by Shane Black. His portfolio includes IronMan 3 and The Nice Guys (the one with Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe). Shane also has an acting credit for the original Predator in 1987.

So, the official synopsis reads:

“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”

In other words, a boy (Jacob Tremblay), playing with what he believes is a toy spaceship, somehow activates the device and summon the killers back to earth thus unleashing the new and improved Predators upon us all.

You can view the teaser for yourself below and well, lots of things happen in a very generic way:

Yeah, look the teaser isn’t the best but if the subsequent Alien remakes of the past years have taught us anything, The Predator might actually be good… enough… maybe… shitty-good.

Well, a majority of fans aren’t amused:

But this is also true:

A boy will summon The Predator into cinemas come September 14.
