Pablo Escobar’s Brother Says Netflix Should Hire Literal Hitmen To Prevent 2nd ‘Narcos’ Death

After the horrible news of the shooting death of a location scout for the Netflix crime-drama ‘Narcos‘ in central Mexico last week, pressure continues to mount on the production team to announce what additional safety protocols they will put in place when shooting commences.

One person who has put his hand up to supply some advice on this subject is none other then the brother of Pablo Escobar himself, with Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria telling The Hollywood Reporter they should hire not only armed guards, but literal hitmen who know the area.

The former head of the hitmen squad in charge of protecting Escobar’s elaborate drug-trafficking operations told THR “You have to eliminate all threats” and this requires specialised, local security men:

If you have the intellect, you don’t need to use weapons. If not, you have to. In this case, Netflix should provide hitmen to their people as security.

Roberto is no fan of the Netflix show however, in fact continuing to pursue “successor-in-interest rights” to the sum of $1 billion for the use of his family’s story, and he pulls no punches in his summary of the production:

I don’t want Netflix or any other film production company to film any movies in Medellin or Colombia that relates to me or my brother Pablo without authorization from Escobar Inc. It is very dangerous. Especially without our blessing. This is my country.

Their mothers should have left them in the womb. That is what we tell people like this if they come to Colombia.

Season 3 of ‘Narcos‘ dropped on Netflix earlier this month, with season 4 set to return sometime next year.
